Making regeneration work

Yesterday, I presented at the Residential Construction Network (RCN) organised event on making regeneration work through our external environments. First on the platform was David Barker of Elementa Consulting who spoke about climate comfort within the public realm.

My presentation focussed on the importance of looking at the wider picture from the start of a project, as well as ensuring that the ‘placemaking’ agenda leads on the development of sustainable communities. I also emphasised integration of green infrastructure from the outset to ensure that microclimate, biodiversity and sustainable urban drainage systems are all integrated.
