Delivering a regenerative landscape vision at Fairlop Waters Country Park

We have been commissioned by the London Borough of Redbridge to deliver a co-designed masterplan that brings a regenerative landscape vision for Fairlop Waters Country Park. Our proposals balance nature and community with health and wellbeing, creating opportunities for discovery, exploration and learning. The site, having SINC status, has important ecological value, and is also a popular leisure destination comprising a number of well-used facilities including a boulder park and sailing club.

Our emerging masterplan will improve the physical and emotional connectedness of this area. Alongside restoring users contact with cycles of nature, the specific, local character of the park will be developed. Centred around a large lake, we want to celebrate the unique sense of place created by its ecological and environmental context.

Fairlop Waters Country Park is a significant priority for Redbridge Council, which aims to transform the social, economic and physical landscape of the area through collaborative long-term strategic planning and investment of resources. By forming this structure for investment, community involvement and implementation, the masterplan provides a well-structured, biophilic and collaborative vision for the future.

We have enjoyed working alongside Focus, Kaizen, Greengage and Barton Wilmore throughout this process. Our masterplan will go out for public consultation later this summer.
