Tabley Lane, Preston

About:

The Tabley Lane masterplan for 233 new, mixed tenure homes is located on a nine hectare greenfield site in North West Preston (NWP) and forms part of the wider NWP masterplan. Two major parcels within the masterplan area gained outline planning approval in 2018 and we are redeveloping the proposals in accordance with the parameters of the outline planning conditions, including limits on height and density.

The masterplan is a landscape-driven plan with streets and open spaces creating a broader biodiversity and ecological network. The masterplan will link the new Tabley Lane neighbourhood into the surrounding context of (proposed) green parkland, Metropolitan Park and wider pedestrian/cyclist connections through well considered ‘green routes’. Our design also structures a series of character areas around key green spaces, with a clear hierarchy of routes and transitions in building form and density. The new homes range from one bedroom apartments to four bedroom family homes, all with private amenity space. Half of these will be affordable homes, some will also be retirement apartments for older people.
