As part of delivering the wider Monmouth School vision, this project transforms and unifies an isolated campus within the school's estate to establish a new Sixth Form Centre. The proposal slots between four existing buildings on the site, creating a dedicated entrance and identity for the new sixth form and acting as a flexible common space for the students.
An existing teaching block to the south is extensively remodelled to provide a new café-style food offering at ground floor and teaching spaces above. Both the new-build and refurbishment aspect of the project ensure high environmental performance and comfort within the buildings through their construction.
With the addition of PVs and a blue roof, the building also further improves its energy performance and its impact on the wider landscape.
