Granville Road, Barnet

About:

Our project is woven into an existing estate to provide 132 new mixed tenure homes and a better environment for both new and existing residents. Our scheme is designed to sensitively respond to the geometry and massing of the existing buildings, including three 15-storey tower blocks, to ensure a cohesive character between old and new. Light buff brickwork sits alongside bronze coloured features, including projecting bays and canopies, and all new homes have a balcony, terrace or garden.

The landscape strategy knits the new and existing buildings together, creating a ‘green ribbon’ of high quality amenity across the long and narrow site. A new linear green space sits at its heart, whilst new public squares front onto each of the existing towers. Across all of these spaces, various opportunities for structured and incidental play are also introduced.
