Exeter Road Estate, Enfield

About:

The Exeter Road Estate forms a key site as part of London Borough of Enfield’s development programme to provide new council homes for rent as well as some shared ownership homes. Our proposals include a comprehensive masterplan for the estate to improve facilities for existing residents and provide 129 additional affordable homes in a range of new buildings as well as extensions to existing buildings. We have designed extensive landscape improvements throughout, including better lighting to promote safety, new cycle parking and play & amenity spaces accessible to both new and existing residents.

The sustainability of the estate will be drastically improved. New homes will feature super insulated walls, communal air source heat pumps, and roof-mounted PVs. Existing low-rise homes will be fitted with new high-performance windows and will be thermally upgraded as part of new brickwork cladding to match the new buildings.

Extensive native planting will be incorporated throughout the neighbourhood to improve biodiversity, including new trees and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).
