Astor College, Camden

About:

Our redevelopment of Astor College forms part of UCL Estates' wider strategy to provide 4,000 modern student bedrooms across London. Located close to the UCL Bloomsbury campus and in the heart of Fitzrovia, the potential of the building is maximised by both refurbishing existing bedrooms and by adding new ones in an extension. Other spaces will also be upgraded to bring them up to modern standards.

This redevelopment also addresses many of the existing townscape issues inherent within the existing building. Key elements of our proposals include forming an extension at the rear, activating the street frontage, and reinforcing the entrance. This addresses the imposing massing of the existing building and creates a new pedestrian link through Bedford Passage that will knit Astor College into the wider masterplan.
