Women in Architecture Awards 2019

A few of us spent Friday afternoon celebrating the achievements of female architects around the world at the Women in Architecture Awards. Liz Diller, winner of this year's Jane Drew Prize, shared her work across art, performance, landscape and architectural disciplines to realise the most ground-breaking of projects. She was incredibly inspiring and such a lesson in positive thinking and an ‘anything is possible’ attitude. Architect of the Year was won by Sheila O’Donnell of O'Donnell + Tuomey which was so well deserved and overdue. A heartfelt congratulations from us all to Hélène Binet, an outstanding architectural photographer, whose contribution to the profession was recognised as winner of the Ada Louise Huxtable Prize. Last but not least, our very best wishes to emerging architectural star Xu Tiantian, the Moira Gemmill Prize winner.

We are proud to be Women in Architecture partners and look forward to continue working with the Architects' Journal and Architectural Review on this important campaign.
