The Housing Design Handbook: launch events

I'm pleased to announce that the second edition of the Housing Design Handbook is now in production! Written by David Levitt and myself, with contributions from a wide range of experts across the industry, this completely revised edition provides an authoritative, comprehensive and systematic guide to best practice in what is perhaps the most contentious and complex field of architectural design.

This book sets out design principles for all the essential components of successful housing design – including placemaking, typologies and density, internal and external space, privacy, security, tenure, and community engagement – illustrated with case studies of schemes by architecture practices working across the UK and continental Europe.

We hope you can join us to celebrate the launch of the Housing Design Handbook in London and Manchester, with drinks, canapés and quick fire presentations:

  • Tuesday 16 October launch event in London: typologies and mix (register here)
  • Thursday 18 October launch event in Manchester: learning from our neighbours (register here)

Discounted copies of the book will be available to purchase at the events or you may pre-order a copy through Routledge.
