LB Netball Club Debut

Last week, Levitt Bernstein Netball Club played their debut game against Hassell, and what a game it was! We had a lot of prep to do before game day, as most of the team hadn’t played netball since school (if at all).

The LBNC attacking team was on fire. Leonie appeared whenever you needed her in centre. Irene and Marcus were unstoppable in GA and GS. Basil’s goal keeping was impeccable. Milly, Ruth, Isabel, Liam and Abiel hit up the wings to have the ball flying up the court faster than Hassel could keep up. The game was really fast-paced and split into four-minute quarters, with a one-minute break between each. Nine of us on the squad meant that we always had two subs and we frequently switched around.

  • MVP – Irene, without a doubt, who was incredible in GA. We actually lost count of how many goals she scored.
  • Most tactical – Milly, for always passing the ball to Irene.
  • Most agile – Marcus, who couldn’t be marked and scored with casual ease.
  • Most studious – Basil, for creating his own revision sheet and studying it on the bus.
  • Most adaptable – Leonie, for alternating between team captain, coach and stepping in to umpire another game after ours.

In the end, we won against Hassell. We hope to arrange some more games in the near future, so watch this space!
