Eel Brook Common is a well-used piece of public land immediately south of Fulham Broadway underground station. The southern part of the common is predominantly open parkland whilst the north of the site tapers and connects to the busy district centre. An avenue of existing mature London Plane trees enriches the nature of the site.
Our proposals seek to remove the existing site clutter and resolve level issues to create a simple, welcoming gateway to the common. A new distinct feature line of etched paving inspired by William Morris helps draw pedestrians into the centre of the site away from neighbouring dwellings. Spot lights create dramatic shadows celebrating the mature trees and the introduction of a grassed area to the north of the existing ball court helps to reconnect the centre of Fulham to the parkland character of the south of the site.
