Brentwood Town Centre, Essex

About:

Our competition-winning strategic plan for Brentwood town centre utilises several former car park sites to create a design that supports mixed-use development, improves the gateway into the high street, and shifts priority from the car to the pedestrian. In anticipation of the new Crossrail station, cycling and pedestrian links are also strengthened. All of these aims seek to enhance the local character and remain mindful of this unique historic setting.

An analysis of field data enabled us to clearly understand the area and wider context, and was undertaken alongside a comprehensive market demand analysis by GVA, our viability consultants. The immediate changes proposed look at key public realm projects and site-specific developments to encourage better footfall through the area as well as attract smaller local businesses in and around the town centre.
