A sunny September evening wander through Bristol town centre led me to the Canon’s Marsh area and a housing masterplan scheme by Cullinan Studio with Grant Associates. We followed the ‘Millennium Promenade’ towards the waters of The Avon, along a concrete decked walkway framed by mass planting of grasses and ferns. The popularity of this new public route connecting to the river was obvious and it was great to see a really strong sustainable drainage strategy integrated into the design, taking water from downpipes into this new planted route.
