The project resulted from the decision of a private collector to donate her collection to Orkney. The works are small and intimate, bought mostly between the wars from unrecocgnised avant-garden artists who have subsequently become very distinguished.
The collection is housed in an old stone quayside warehouse and the adjacent merchant’s house contains temporary exhibition space, visitor facilitie and artist’ flat.
The project is listed in Scotland.
